PULLER OVERVIEW

In the new construction industry, most meter pits sink. Most UBC or city
codes require the pit to be specific depth for future service by city
water departments. The height is important because homeowners will plant
grass over it if it is to low. The only means of raising meter pits
currently is to dig out the top of the pit by hand, which can take
approximately 30-45 minutes in good soil conditions. There are not only
those labor costs incurred, but often there is the added expense of
renting a Backhoe or Bobcat, travel time, unloading fees, etc.
Not only can this process be costly, but it also poses many safety
concerns. Piecing together makeshift clamps and miscellaneous parts that
are not meant for this specific purpose can result in equipment damage
and potential injury... including the potential of damaging the meter
pit itself.
The Meter Pit Puller eliminates all of these concerns. Meter pits will
always sink, but this tool is not only safe, but also simple to use. The
best part...no digging required under any soil conditions.
The current process can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours. With
the Meter Pit Puller, sunken pits can be raised within 2-8 minutes. |
